Singer Ridzuan Hamid of Lost Souls fame passes away




PETALING JAYA: Singer Ridzuan Hamid (pic), better known as Wan, who gained fame in the 1990s as the lead vocalist of local rock band Lost Souls passed away on Thursday morning.

According to friend and fellow musician Gerard Singh, Ridzuan, 44, passed away after suffering a heart attack. He had been in hospital since Tuesday.


He leaves behind a wife and daughter.

“He was a gem of a guy. He was caring and placed a lot of value on friendship and a good working relationship,” said Gerard.

Lost Souls gained fame in the 1990s when the band opened for Bon Jovi at a 1995 concert.

It also scored a huge radio hit with a cover of Bread's Everything I Own.

In recent times Ridzuan was the frontman of The Union, a band which exclusively played songs from the '80s.
