Horrific Johor tahfiz school beating: Asst. hostel warden remanded

KOTA TINGGI: An assistant hostel warden of a private religious school here has been placed under remand for four days in connection with the severe beating of an 11-year-old tahfiz student.
Magistrate Mazana Sinin issued the remand order on the 29-year-old man, following an application from the police.
The suspect was detained at his house in Felda Lok Heng Barat here yesterday, after the student's mother lodged a police report.
The student, Mohamad Thaqif Amin Mohd Gadaffie, who was admitted to the Sultan Ismail Hospital (HSI) in Johor Baru last Wednesday, had claimed that he was beaten by an assistant warden at the school.
The boy was so badly injured that both his legs had to be amputated, to save his life.
Thafiq has since slipped into a coma, Johor Health, Environment, Education and Information Committee chairman Datuk Ayub Rahmat has confirmed.
It was also reported that police obtained CCTV footage of students of the same tahfiz school being beaten by an adult, allegedly using a garden hose. -- BERNAMAImage result for boy beaten school tahfiz
