PUTRAJAYA: A district CID chief based in Melaka has been remanded to aid anti-graft investigations into allegations of police providing protection for vice dens in the state.
Magistrate Nik Isfahanie Tasnim Wan Ab Rahman allowed 49-year old Deputy Superintendent to be remanded for seven days until May 29.
The police officer arrived at the courts complex here at 9.10am Tuesday escorted by Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission officers.
He is the latest police officer to have been detained by the MACC in the case.
Twelve people have been arrested in connection with the case to date.
