Police to probe TN50 scuffle

PUTRAJAYA: Police have received two reports, one made by a policeman, over the scuffle at the National Transformation 2050 (TN50) dialogue for artistes on Wednesday.

Putrajaya OCPD Asst Comm Rosly Hassan said the other report was made by a member of the public in Pudu on Thursday afternoon.
He said only two reports were received on the incident.
"Even though both sides have made peace, the police are obligated to investigate since (a video of) the incident has gone viral.
"We will investigate from all angles and call in witnesses as well," he said.
ACP Rosly said statements would be taken from both parties involved in the scuffle.
The case is being investigated for causing hurt under Section 323 of the Penal Code.
During the dialogue on Wednesday night, movie producer David Teo was reportedly unhappy with the moderator, actor Datuk Rosyam Nor, for not giving all the participants an equal chance to speak with guest-of-honor Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
Actor and comedian Sulaiman Yassin, better known as Mat Over, who was allegedly angered at the way Teo was speaking, then walked up to him from the audience and tried to slap him.
The pair were quickly separated by security personnel and escorted out, and the programme continued without incident.
Sulaiman and Teo were later brought back in at the end of the session and were called to the stage, where they made peace by shaking hands and hugging each other. They also shook hands with Najib.
A video of the incident has since gone viral.
Earlier on Thursday, Teo and Sulaiman said that they had forgiven each other over the incident. Sulaiman called on all Malaysians to move on.
