PETALING JAYA: There are two Malaysians among the 141 men detained for allegedly taking part in a gay sex party at a sauna in Jakarta on Monday.
Indonesian authorities told AFP that they raided a building that houses a sauna and a gym, and halted what they said was a sex party promoted as "The Wild One".
The Malaysians were among four other foreigners – one from Britain and one from Singapore – while the rest are Indonesians.
"Our officers did an undercover investigation and raided the place on Sunday," senior detective Nasriadi told AFP.
Photos of the raid were also circulated widely online, with one showing topless men sitting in a hallway.
Homosexuality and gay sex are legal in Indonesia except in the conservative Aceh province, but Nasriadi said 10 of those arrested could be charged under the country's tough anti-pornography laws.
Those also expected to face charges are the organisers of the event, as well as men suspected of being prostitutes and striptease dancers.
They face up to 10 years in jail, if convicted.
Nasriadi said people attending the event had to pay an entry fee, which included admission to a striptease show on one floor of the building, and that the main "sex party" took place on another dimly-lit floor.
