Isa Samad remanded five days in graft probe

PUTRAJAYA: Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad (pic) has been remanded for five days in a graft probe into the purchase of a hotel in London by Felda Investment Corporation (FIC).
Registrar of Subordinate Courts Datuk Zainal Abidin Kamarudin granted the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission's (MACC) application for the former Felda chairman to be held until Aug 20.
He is being investigated under Section 16 of the MACC Act.
Mohd Isa, 68, arrived at the Putrajaya courts complex at 9.08am in a black MPV.
Clad in the MACC's orange lock-up attire, he was closely guarded by investigators due to the sizable crowd waiting for him.
Among those present outside the court was his wife Puan Sri Bibi Sharliza Mohd Khalid.
Mohd Isa was arrested at 4.24pm on Tuesday at the MACC's headquarters, where he was called earlier to have his statement recorded over FIC's purchase of hotels in London and Kuching.
