KUALA TERENGGANU: State Criminal Investigation Department today released another 51 photographs and details of the state's most wanted criminals to help solve cases related to rape, violent crimes and motorcycle thefts.

State CID chief Assistant Commissioner Fazlisyam Abdul Majid said among them was a 43-year-old man from Kampung Padang Kemasik in Kemaman who is wanted to assist in the investigation of motorcycle theft in Kemaman.

Fazlisyam said the suspect who had a previous motorcycle theft and robbery record managed to escape a police raid while his three gang members, including a woman in her 30’s, were detained near the village on Oct 6.

"Those with information on the suspect, identified as Kamal Muhammad, should call the nearest police station," he told reporters in a press conference at the Kuala Terengganu police contingent, here, today.

Fazlisyam said 17 wanted suspects were detained soon after the photo-fits of the suspects were posted two weeks ago.

He said between Oct 1 and Oct 10, four of them surrendered themselves at the Kuala Terengganu, Dungun, Besut and Marang police stations while 13 others were nabbed during the 'Ops Kesan' held at several districts.

He said police were looking for 26 suspects involved in rape cases of which 14 cases were in Besut, five in Kuala Terengganu, three in Dungun, two in Marang, and one each in Kemaman and Hulu Terengganu.

Fazlisyam said the state CID would soon release more photographs from among the 626 wanted criminals to seek the public's help to track them dow
