The magistrate's court here has rejected a remand application for DBI Properties managing director Boy Iman

BUKIT MERTAJAM: The magistrate's court here has rejected a remand application for DBI Properties managing director Datuk Nuruliman A. Rahman over an alleged housing scam.  

Magistrate Dianne Ningrad Nor Azhar rejected the four-day remand application against Nuruliman, better known as Boy Iman, after hearing his lawyer's submission on Sunday.  
Lawyer Faizul Mohd Nasir said his client had been brought all over the country to be remanded.  
He said Nuruliman had been brought here after a police report was lodged in Penang.  
The court also rejected the remand application for three other directors of the company.  
All suspects had been previously remanded over fraud allegations involving millions of ringgit.  
They will be released at the central Seberang Prai district police headquarters in Bandar Perda later Sunday.  
Nuruliman is one of three suspects in a housing scam which led to some RM6.2mil in losses being incurred by victims of the scheme.  
It was reported that Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department director Comm Datuk Seri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said Nuruliman was under investigation involving house sales by DBI Properties and Syarikat Juta Kelulut Global Resources.  
He said 210 police reports involving the case have been lodged throughout the country.  
In the scam being investigated, houses were offered at below-market price to buyers, such as a bungalow measuring 1,650 sq ft being offered for RM60,000.  
However, once payment was made, the construction did not take place.
