Police Conduct Live GE 14 drills

Cops conduct live drills for GE14

KUALA LUMPUR: Two live drills were carried out to test the operational readiness of the police for the 14th General Election.

Sentul OCPD Asst Comm R. Munusamy said the drills were held at two schools at around 8am and noon on Thursday (Dec 14).

He added that the drills were done to train his personnel on what to expect for the polls.

The first scenario was based on a social media post claiming that a group of supporters from one party had confronted phantom voters brought in via police trucks outside Sekolah Kebangsaan La Salle.

The scenario saw about 30 supporters stopping the truck, chanting “pengundi haram” (phantom voters).

The supporters of the opposing party were also provoked, leading to a clash.

In the mock clash, several people were injured and three were later arrested and taken to the police headquarters.

The second scenario was acted out in front of SMK Methodist Kuala Lumpur at around noon.

In this scenario, 200 supporters of one party had stopped a bus from coming to vote claiming that the people on board were phantom voters from neighbouring countries.

They attacked the bus driver and passengers on board for not giving their identification documents.
