PETALING JAYA: Fans of US singer Bruno Mars will still get to enjoy his 24K Magic World Tour concert as planned, despite it falling on the same day as polling day on May 9.

The concert organiser PR Worldwide confirmed on their Facebook page that the show will go on as planned.

"To all Bruno Mars Live in Kuala Lumpur ticket holders, the show is currently scheduled as planned. For event updates, stay tuned to www.prworldwidelive.com," said PR Worldwide.

The announcement comes after anxious fans fretted about whether the concert will be cancelled or postponed because of the polls.

Several concertgoers commented that they have already booked flight tickets and hotel rooms for the concert.

"Please don't ever cancel it! We all have been looking forward for this and we can just vote in the morning lah. I don't think there should be any clash of this event," said Facebook user Ummi EA.

Facebook user Ashley Choo said that she has already bought her flight ticket and hotel room that is non-refundable.

"Please don't change the date. No one is going to pay for the last minute change," said Choo.

Meanwhile, Facebook user Aish Adnan, who is an outstation voter, wanted a date change or refund of the concert ticket.

"I still want to go see Bruno Mars, yet I do proudly [want to] uphold my right to vote as a Malaysian citizen," said Aish.

Facebook user Jannis Tan Yi Tung urged fans to vote, and said that she has already rebooked her flight and accommodation for the day.

"Losing thousands [of Ringgit] is better than losing our future," said Tan.

Some have suggested delaying the 8.30pm concert time to give fans extra time to make it back for the concert after casting their vote.

While, some fans have commented on PR Worldwide's post, looking to sell off their tickets.

All 12,000 tickets to the Bruno Mars 24K Magic World Tour concert in Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil, have been sold out.

This is not the first time a concert has fallen on election day, as Italian opera singer-songwriter Andrea Bocelli also had his concert on the same day of GE13 on May 5, 2013.
