GOLD COAST: It rained medals for Malaysia in rhythmic gymnastics at the Coomera Indoor Sports Centre here.

Koi Sie Yan (pic) bagged a silver medal in the ball apparatus with a score of 13.400 points on Friday (April 13).

Diamanto Evripidou of Cyprus took the gold with 13.800 points and Australia's Alexandra Kiroi-Bogatyreva took the bronze with 13.250.

Sie Yan added another silver in the clubs with a sensational performance to earn 13.850 points.


Malaysia's Amy Kwan Dict Weng also made it a good day when she rolled a bronze medal in the hoop apparatus with a score of 13.550.

It was Amy's third medal after winning a silver in the team and a bronze in the individual all-around.

Diamanto Evripidou of Cyprus showed her prowess by winning the gold with 14.850 while Laura Halford of Wales took the silver with 14.000.
