GOLD COAST: Lee Chong Wei has set up a mouth-watering clash against K. Srikanth of India in the men's singles at the Commonwealth Games.

The 35-year-old Chong Wei showed he still has the fire in his belly when he defeated H.S. Prannoy 21-16, 9-21, 21-14 in the semi-finals at the Carrara Sports and Lesiure Centre on Saturday.

Chong Wei lost to 25-year-old Prannoy in last two meetings but yesterday, the Malaysian stepped on the gas to outplay the Indian.

Srikanth oozed class in his 21-10, 21-17 win over Rajiv Ouspeh of England in another semi-finals yesterday.

World No. 7 Chong Wei is ready for a stiff battle against reigning world No. 1 Srikanth but this time, he plans to get the upper hand.

The Malaysian lost to the 25-year-old Srikanth in the mixed team final tie on Sunday.

"I've nothing to lose...this is my last Games. I've come this far and I'll go all out," said Chong Wei, who has won the men's singles gold at the edition in 2006 Mebourne and 2010 New Delhi.

"Srikanth is the world No. 1 and riding high but I'll give him a good fight..that's how I want to bow out of this Games," added Chong Wei.

Mixed doubles ace Chan Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying failed to join Chong Wei and Vivian Hoo-Chow Mei Kuan in tomorrow's final.

The Olympic silver medallists were beaten 21-19, 21-17 by defending champions Chris Adcock-Gabrielle Adcock.

Peng Soon-Liu Ying will return to the court later today to play in the bronze medal playoff.
