KUALA LUMPUR: A young woman faced a barrage of criticism for apparently showing off her new ‘luxury’ iPhone X.

A short video of her unboxing the iPhone X has gone viral after it was posted on a public Facebook group.

It struck a particular sour chord with netizens, one of which reeks with the typical dismissive Apple fanboyism.

At the time of writing, the posting has been shared more than 3,700 times and garnered more than 10,000 comments.

In the short video which rolls for less than a minute, the woman can be seen drumming her fingers on the table and the iPhone X box.

She also performed a little dance of excitement before she proceeded to remove the plastic wrapping on the box.

As she was about to open the box, she gave a seemingly snobbish smile coupled with some dance moves to show her excitement.

When she finally opened the box, the woman screeched in a high pitched voice, further driving home the message that she was really thrilled.

As she was holding the iPhone X, she dabbed (a dance move in which you bow your head down into your elbow).

The show seems to have merely drawn the ire of irate netizens, many who have taken to critising her behaviour, calling her act “annoying” and “smug”, and that she was “acting superior”.

One Facebook user, Nurul Nadya, wrote: “Please don’t let me see your face anywhere… I might puke if I see your face!!!”

Some netizens feel bad for the woman though, and came to her defense.

Mampee Kaur Ahluwalia wrote: “Lol people are so freaking fast to judge. Let her live her life man, she probably would have worked so hard for that iPhone and if it makes her happy so be it.”

Features in the iPhone X include facial recognition and wireless charging.

Critics of the iPhone X said the phone is vastly overpriced and weird-looking thanks to its prominent screen notch.
